Al-Haqq

الحق

Name of Allah

The Absolute Truth — the truth that does not pass away.

Overview

Al-Haqq — The Absolute Truth: the truth that does not pass away.

The form الحق occurs in 175 ayahs (for example 2:26, 2:42, 2:61). Those passages are listed below, found by matching the Arabic word form rather than the translation.

The enumeration of ninety-nine names comes from a hadith, not from the Quran, and the lists differ between narrations. IslamicGraph records the traditional set and shows, for each name, the ayat where that exact Arabic form occurs — so what rests on the Quran and what rests on the enumeration stay visible as different things.

He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.

And it is He who created the heavens and earth in truth. And the day He says, "Be," and it is, His word is the truth. And His is the dominion [on] the Day the Horn is blown. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Acquainted.

So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge."
