Khidr
الخضر
Quranic figure
The unnamed 'servant of Allah' whom Musa followed in Surah Al-Kahf; identified as al-Khidr in hadith.
Overview
In Surah Al-Kahf, Musa travels to the junction of the two seas and meets "a servant from among Our servants" to whom Allah had given mercy and taught knowledge from Himself (18:65). Musa asks to follow him in order to learn, and is warned that he will not be able to bear with him patiently (18:66–67). Three episodes follow — the boat, the boy and the wall — each explained at the end (18:71–82).
The Quran never names this servant. The name al-Khidr (al-Khadir) comes from hadith, notably the narration of Ubayy ibn Ka'b recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari. IslamicGraph therefore treats the name as hadith-sourced rather than Quranic.

And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience."
