Maqam Ibrahim
مقام إبراهيم
Landmark · Place
The standing place of Ibrahim, named in the Quran as a sign within the sanctuary and a place of prayer.
Overview
The Quran names the maqām Ibrāhīm — "the standing place of Abraham" — twice. Believers are told to take it as a place of prayer (2:125), and it is listed among the clear signs in the House (3:97).
The Quran does not describe what the maqam physically is; accounts of that belong to the commentary and historical literature rather than to the text.
