Adl — justice in judgment and dealing, commanded by Allah alongside excellence, and described as nearer to taqwa.
Overview
Adl — justice — is directly commanded in the Quran: "Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct" (16:90), and those who judge between people are ordered to judge with justice (4:58). Justice is to be upheld even against one's own interest and even toward enemies: "be just; that is nearer to righteousness" (5:8).
The Quran praises a community among the people of Musa "which guides by truth and by it establishes justice" (7:159).

Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice. Excellent is that which Allah instructs you. Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing.
