Shuayb
شعيب
Prophet · Quranic figure
The prophet sent to Madyan, who called his people to honest weights and measures.
Overview
Shuayb is the prophet sent to the people of Madyan (7:85), calling them to worship Allah alone and to give full measure and weight. His story appears in Al-A'raf, Hud and Ash-Shu'ara.
Many commentators identify Shuayb with the elderly man of Madyan whose daughter Musa married (28:23–28). The Quran leaves that man unnamed, so the identification is recorded here as tafsir-supported and disputed, not as a Quranic statement.

And to [the people of] Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. So fulfill the measure and weight and do not deprive people of their due and cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. That is better for you, if you should be believers.
