Prophethood
النبوة
Creed · Concept
Nubuwwah — Allah's choosing of human beings to convey His message, sealed with Muhammad.
Overview
Nubuwwah — prophethood — is Allah's selection of human beings to receive revelation and guide others. The Quran distinguishes between a nabi (prophet) and a rasul (messenger) and describes Musa as both (19:51). Prophethood runs in the line of Ibrahim (29:27) and was sealed with Muhammad, "the Messenger of Allah and seal of the prophets" (33:40).
