Muhammad
محمد
Prophet · Messenger · Quranic figure
The final messenger of Allah and seal of the prophets, to whom the Quran was revealed.
Overview
Muhammad ﷺ is the messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets (33:40), to whom the Quran was revealed over twenty-three years in Makkah and Madinah. The Quran names him four times and describes him as "only a messenger, before whom other messengers have passed" (3:144).
His life — the sira — is the hinge between the Quran and the rest of Islamic knowledge: the hadith literature records his words and actions, and the early battles, including Badr (3:123), are referred to in the Quran and detailed in the historical sources.

Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.
