Jesus — the Messiah, son of Maryam; a messenger of Allah who spoke in the cradle and was given the Injil.

Overview

Isa (Jesus) is the Messiah, the son of Maryam (3:45), born without a father by the word of Allah. As an infant in the cradle he declared: "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet" (19:30). He was sent as a messenger to Bani Israel with clear signs (3:49) and was given the Injil (5:46).

The Quran affirms his miraculous birth and his messengership while rejecting his divinity (5:72–75), and states that he was neither killed nor crucified but that Allah raised him to Himself (4:157–158).

And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”
